Oh man hippies, if there was ever a recipe that screamed snow day comfort food, this is it!
I was telling Eric that I was craving something delicious and satisfying and of course he comes up with the genius idea of hash browns!
He’s been making us hash browns for a while now and I love them so much, I just had to share them with you guys!
- 4-6 small russet potatoes
- 2 tbs avocado oil
- your favorite seasonings! We like to use salt, pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne – all to taste
Peel the potatoes!
Use the microplane to grate the potatoes into a bowl of water.
Put a cloth in a colander, then drain the potatoes.
Collect the cloth into a bundle and squeeze out the liquid (with the potatoes inside). Twist the bundle until you squeeze out all the water! Basically, its the same primary step for making homemade almond milk. It’s the most important step! Also, it’s what helps the hash browns taste so good.
Heat up the pan and put in the oil.
Finally, place the shredded potatoes in a large pan and sauté away!
